Writing of the week

This Wednesday I launched the UX Database on Product Hunt, LinkedIn and Twitter and I wanted to share the progress with you, as it has had a spectacular reception 👏

Before the release of the product database, it was just a small newsletter of about 1500 subscribers, along with a few visits to the MVP website of between 10-30 sessions per day and 20-50 pageviews, but then the analytics have gone crazy after the release 😍

I would like to comment that this data is ultra skewed by Product Hunt traffic and the post I made on LinkedIn, so until a month passes and the referred data is stabilized and indexed and positioned in google correctly, I cannot talk about real data.

So, imagine my face when I saw that about 4000 users entered the same day the page with more than 10k pageviews without having 700 subscribers to the newsletter 🤩

It has been a great launch, although now I am waiting for the real metrics once the adoption of the product is settled, in a couple of months I will do a small update, besides creating a transparency page within the web, with the aim of being as less opaque as possible with you. Thank to all of you 💜

Avoiding tab styles for navigation

Styling links as tabs is deceptive – when a link is clicked, the content is shown after a page refresh with the focus moving back to the top of the viewport. But tabs don’t work like this – when a tab is clicked, the content is shown instantly without a page refresh and with the focus remaining on the tab.Adam Silver
